Synopsis
Ask Not is a rare and compelling exploration of the effects of the U.S. military's "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. A provocative portrait of bravery amidst exclusion, the film reveals the personal stories of Americans willing to risk their lives in a military that criminalizes the act of coming out. Gay soldiers from before and after "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" discuss how discrimination affects them during their tours of duty as they struggle to maintain a double life, uncertain of whom they can trust when trust is necessary to survival.

The film also follows gay veterans and young organizers working to overturn the policy in a time of unmet military recruitment goals and an ongoing war. Ask Not provokes thoughtful dialogue about the merits of banning those who are honest about their identities from serving their country. [adult content, language]

Synopsis
In this powerful story of the 2006 war in Lebanon, a series of letters written by a mother living through continuous Israeli bombing carve a narrative arc through the intense and haunting images of conflict.

As she publishes the stories and pictures of children and families torn apart by the bombing, she writes about her own daughter- her fears, nightmares, and hope. The War of 33 is more than a document of a particular historical experience. What emerges is a universal story- a complex picture of love, pain, resistance and survival in the face of uncertainty and violence. [subtitles, violence]
