A visionary tattoo artist's unexpected rise to pop culture icon began at the age of ten when he began painting on neighborhood kids. After graduating from the San Francisco Art Institute where he studied traditional fine arts, Ed Hardy rejected a scholarship to Yale University to open a tattoo shop. Today, he is revered as the father of modern tattooing and respected as a painter of eclectic, vibrant, very personal art. His images have also become a highly successful line of clothing and other products, worn by celebrities from Bruce Springsteen to Madonna and seen everywhere in the world. [adult content]
