Synopsis
Running Wild: The Life of Dayton O. Hyde is the self-told tale of a colorful 6'5" cowboy whose destiny led him on a dramatic and meaningful journey through the American West — from working ranches and cattle drives, to rodeos and conservation battles, wild horse rescues, personal heartbreak, and finally to new found love. One of America’s last remaining true cowboys, Dayton O. Hyde has dedicated the last 25 years to protecting wild horses on a sanctuary he founded in the Black Hills of South Dakota, the only such refuge in the country. Through his award-winning poetry and prose, his successes in land and wildlife conservation, and now in intimate interviews on film, Dayton O. Hyde recalls the grandeur of the Old West, while reminding us of the importance of protecting its natural resources today.
