The great B.B. King stars in this wry and elegant short film, along with some enthusiastic intrusions by unexplained sock puppets. Shot on 35mm film, this is cartoonist and children’s book author (Barnyard Dance!) Sandra Boynton’s first venture into directing. The song “One Shoe Blues”—a child’s lament about a missing sneaker—was originally written by Boynton and composer Michael Ford, and performed by B.B. King, for their much-loved album BLUE MOO: 17 Jukebox Hits from Way Back Never. See Boynton’s other film Philadelphia Chickens.
