 | The extraordinary 2008 AIFF documentary Young@Heart returns to the Varsity Theatre with two screenings to benefit the festival Friday, May 16 at 6:00 and 8:30 p.m. A chorus of senior citizens ranging in age from 72 to 93 sing songs by Talking Heads, The Clash, Coldplay, and others. But the lyrics take on new meaning and poignancy when sung by those with a lifetime of love and loss, who may be nearing the end of their journey. Click here for more information.

 | The 7th Annual ashland independent film festival wrapped Monday evening after five days of packed theatres. 101 of the festival's 130 films and events were sold out, with over 90 percent of tickets sold for the Varsity Theatre screenings. 16,000 tickets were distributed to approximately 7000 attendees.

Audience, Jury and Lifetime Achievement Awards |

 | Eleven films won juried and audience awards at the 2008 AIFF Awards Celebration, two received special jury mention and two filmmakers were honored with special awards. The 2008 AIFF Artistic Achievement Award was presented to Albert Maysles. "I have received many honors; none of them have touched me as deeply and soulfully as what I've received here," Maysles said.
