Smart, awkward high school freshman Ted lives with his paralyzed father Ron and his older brother Truck (Alex Frost, Calvin Marshall, 2010 AIFF), a star of the football team. Ted idolizes his brother who essentially has raised him. Now during their one year of high school together, Ted begins hanging out with Truck's group of friends, "The Kings." As Ted passes each of the Kings' tests, his confidence rises - he grows closer to Truck and his friends, girls are finally noticing him, and he is gaining status, until he learns of the Kings' secret contest to have sex with the most freshman girls. As he realizes that acceptance comes with a price, Ted is forced to make choices causing him to lose - or gain everything. The film is based on Ashland High School graduate Max Doty’s short story Bug and won the Netflix Find Your Voice Film Competition - garnering a production grant, distribution on Netflix, and a premiere at the Los Angeles Film Festival.
