“Mice and bears can never be friends” according to the rules of a community of mice who live beneath a village of bears in the charming world of Ernest & Celestine.
An orphaned mouse, Celestine studies dentistry, as do most of her fellow mice, but dreams of being an artist. In her underground world, she is taught to fear the bears, that friendship between them is possible only in fairy tales. One day while above ground, she meets the sensitive, talented, and musical bear Ernest, who instead of eating her, becomes her unlikely friend, which calls into question the entire worldview of mice and bears. A delightful, picture book of watercolor paintings come to life. With the voices of Forest Whitaker, Lauren Bacall, Paul Giamatti, and William H. Macy. [in English]
