Last Days in Vietnam
98 minutes
Director(s): Rory Kennedy
Fri 12:00 pm Armory
During the chaotic final days of the Vietnam War, a skeleton crew of American diplomats and military personnel face a moral quandary. As the North Vietnamese Army closes in on Saigon, these Americans fear the certain imprisonment and possible death of their South Vietnamese allies, co-workers, and friends. With a Communist victory inevitable, and the last of the Americans ordered to withdraw, the prospect of an official evacuation of the South Vietnamese is made all but impossible by gridlocked US policy. With the clock ticking and Saigon under fire, a few heroic Americans take matters into their own hands, engaging in unsanctioned and often makeshift operations in a desperate effort to save as many South Vietnamese lives as possible before it is too late.
