WE EXIST & FULL CIRCLE
This program features two shorts that contemplate what it means to be an elder, the endurance of legacy, and how to live an authentic life.
WE EXIST —An intimate look on the current generation of Hobos and why it's so tough to grow old— Dunsmuir locals reflect on the train industry’s impact on this small forgotten railroad town, while 30 year old Sweet Bean Selene fights for her hobo community of gay, trans, and queer friends to survive to be elders.
FULL CIRCLE — As a Karuk elder born with disabilities, Franklin was told he couldn't do what he wanted, which only motivated him to do just that, to speak his native language. An artist and elder's journey to learn his own culture.
Autie will be joining us in person, and will facilitate conversation and community storytelling afterwards.
